Meet Your Librarian

Ms. Andrea Khawaja

Hello, Raider Community! 

I am honored to serve as your school librarian. The library is a safe, comfortable place for all students, and I look forward to getting to know you better!

Prior to becoming your librarian, I taught English Language Arts for 15 years. I've taught grades 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11 at all levels. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Adolescent/Young Adult English Language Arts. I attended Western Connecticut State University, The University of Texas at Austin, and am currently completing the Master of Library Science program at Texas Woman's University. 

I have a daughter at Rough Hollow Elementary, a stepson in college, and a stepdaughter at Bowie High School. I also have two fur babies: a black lab and a terrier mix. 

My favorite genres are fantasy and historical fiction, but I'm trying to read more nonfiction and middle-grade realistic fiction this year. I always appreciate book recommendations from my students!
