Administration
Mason Whitfield, Principal
Mason Whitfield was born in Metairie, Louisiana. A transient childhood brought him to Texas, England and the Netherlands all before he graduated from high school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Baylor University and began his teaching and coaching career in 2005 at Morton Ranch High School in Katy. Mason married the love of his life in 2007 and together they have two beautiful little girls, Dallis and Bobbie. He received his Master’s Degree in Administration from Letourneau University in 2012 and became the head coach of the soccer team at Cinco Ranch High School in 2014. He and his family moved to Lake Travis in 2019 where he was a member of our history department and soccer program.
After seventeen years in the classroom, and on the soccer field, he has hung up his cleats for a chance to improve the lives of students in another facet. He has a love of learning and a desire to make a difference in the lives of students. His wife Meagan is a yoga instructor in the community and his two daughters are avid dancers at Body Lab in Spicewood. When he is not on campus, he is coaching club soccer, woodworking or finding new ways to spend time with his family.

Iris Garner, Assistant Principal
6th Grade
I am honored to join the Bee Cave Middle School family as an assistant principal and look forward to serving our sixth-grade students during the 2026–2027 school year. With more than 19 years in education, including nine years in leadership roles, I am passionate about building strong relationships and helping every student grow academically, socially, and personally.
As a proud Central Texas native, I earned degrees from Temple (Jr) College, Texas State University, and Concordia University Texas. While I value lifelong learning, my greatest lessons have come from working alongside incredible students, families, and educators.
My greatest joy is my family. My husband and I have three wonderful children, and our home is always full with six beloved pets. We enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, cooking, traveling, spending time at the beach, and cheering on our favorite sports teams.
My guiding belief is simple: every student is someone's most treasured person. I strive to lead with respect, compassion, grace, and high expectations so that every Raider feels known, supported, and empowered to succeed.
I am excited to partner with our students, staff, and families as we build on the traditions that make Bee Cave Middle School such a special place. I look forward to a fantastic year together.

I am thrilled to continue serving Bee Cave Middle School as the the 7th grade Assistant Principal. After working as the TOSA, I’m excited to support our campus in a new way and continue learning and growing alongside the incredible educators at Bee Cave Middle School.
I graduated from Cornell College with a BA in Political Science and Psychology, earned my Master of Public Administration from Walden University, and received my Educational Leadership certificate from Lamar University. This is my 16th year in education, and throughout my career I’ve taught upper elementary math and science, middle school science, served as an At-Risk Coordinator at the high school level, and most recently worked as an Assistant Principal at Goodnight Middle School in San Marcos ISD.
My husband, Adam, is also an educator and the head wrestling coach at Lake Travis High School. We have two daughters, Layla and Myla who attend school in the district. Our family is grateful to be together in Lake Travis ISD, and I’m looking forward to a great year ahead.
Amber McKinley, Assistant Principal
8th Grade
I am honored to join the team at Bee Cave Middle School as an Assistant Principal, bringing with me 20 years of experience in public education and eight years serving in campus administration. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating schools where students feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn each day, while also ensuring teachers and staff feel valued and empowered in their work.
I earned my Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University and my Bachelor of Science in Education from University of New Mexico, where I was also a member of the Track & Field team. Professionally, I have led work in instructional leadership, campus safety, attendance improvement, MTSS systems, teacher development, master scheduling, and building strong partnerships with families and the community. I believe meaningful relationships, clear systems, and a positive school culture are the foundation for student success.
Originally from Reno, I was fortunate to marry a native Texan, which eventually brought our family to the beautiful Texas Hill Country where we are raising our two beautiful children. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, working out, attending concerts and cheering on my kids at their many sporting events.
I am excited for the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and families of Bee Cave Middle School and look forward to contributing to a campus culture where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
